Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.
Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then discovered many other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Officials state initial examinations show the fluid was most likely human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; authorities are presently not aware of any harm in association with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to solve the case" and have asked to the residents for tips.
An important representative commented the vandalism rendered him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This incident hits the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a assailant aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
