'People are afraid' - why 'unstoppable force' Arsenal are the squad everyone fears.

There's no doubt why Arsenal stand as countless pundits' preferred choice to win the Premier League in the current campaign.

Consider their outcomes against West Ham and Crystal Palace versus those equivalent matches in the previous campaign.

The Gunners have beaten all of them this time around, but lost 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race previously.

Defensive Dominance

Arsenal's defensive strength is a primary factor why they are seeming ready to at last realize their title ambition.

They rank top for unbreached games (6), goals allowed (3), attempts against (72), shots on target faced (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is possibly the best in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Superiority

Their danger from dead balls is widely recognized, but rival sides still don't know how to stop the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just fearful of them and it is wonderful to see."

Championship Pedigree

What is particularly notable about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their historic competitors face difficulties. This marks the first time at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on manager Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having invested around £250m on eight summer signings in quest of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far paid off in impressive fashion, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and possessing the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Shutouts in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Over six hours without allowing a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across various contests

Former players and analysts have described Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now performing with belief and purpose.
