Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first championship since the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.

Success also indicates he has won 21 titles at 21 various events.

"For the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.

His retrieving strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.

However the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.

He defended four early-game chances in a close final set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
